Trying cuisines from around the world is a fun way to introduce your kids and family to new tastes and new cultures. Chicken tikka masala is an Indian dish that's often served in restaurants, but not commonly found in cookbooks.  While it's not an entirely authentic Indian dish (which is why it's ignored by many cookbooks), the flavors are rooted in the Indian spices. 
This simple slow cooker recipe is an easy recipe that takes only a few minutes to prepare. Check out the video at the end of the article to see just how easy this dinner is.

Slow cooker chicken tikka masala

1 cup greek yogurt
2 tablespoon ginger peeled and minced into a paste
7 cloves garlic minced
⅓ cup tomato paste
1 28 oz can crushed tomato
1 teaspoons turmeric
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoon garam masala
⅛ teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon fenugreek leaves
1½ teaspoons salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
2 pounds chicken thigh boneless skinless
1½ tablespoons lemon juice
¼ cup cilantro rough chopped
In a 6-quart slow cooker, add in yogurt, ginger, garlic, tomato paste, crushed tomato, turmeric, cumin, paprika, garam masala, cinnamon, fenugreek, salt and pepper. Mix well, being sure tomato paste is evenly mixed in.
Add in chicken, smearing both sides of chicken with sauce. Press chicken down into the sauce. Then cook on low for 3 hours.
After 3 hours, mix in lemon juice, and then top with cilantro.
